چکیده

Abstraet. Photoionization cross sections, oscillator strengths and energy levels of the silicon-like ions. Sio, S2+, Ar4 and Ca6+ are calculated in the close coupling approximation using the R-matrix method. A large number of bound states with n S IO have been considered and oscillator strengths fortransitions among all thesestates and photoionization cross sections of all the bound stater are obtained. Partial photoionization cross sections of the ground state into various excited states of the residual ion are also obtained for each ion. Detailed comparisons have been made for the calculated energies, oscillator strengths and photoionization cross sections with available theoretical and experimental values. Whereas we findgoodagreement for theoscillator strengths with recent experimental data for Si" and S2+, there are very few previous data available for Ar" and Ca6+. The ground-state photoionization cmss sections for Sio agree well with the previous blosc coupling calculations, however the present R-matrix results show considerable differences from the background cross sections for Sio, S*+ and Ar4+ in the central Eeld approximations.

Photoionization, Recombination, and Radiative Transitions of Atoms and Ions

Physical properties such as temperature, density of stars and their chemical compositions can be obtained from detail analysis of their spectra at various wavelengths. Ultraviolet (UV) wavelengths are particularly important as the chromosphere surrounding a star is rich in UV radiation generated by collisional and radiative atomic processes, such as photoionization, electron-ion recombination a...

Photoionization cross sections and oscillator strengths for oxygen ions: O I-O VII

Ab initio close-coupling calculations are reported using the R-matrix method for photoionization cross sections (sPI), oscillator strengths ( f values!, and energy levels ~E! for oxygen ions: O I, O II, O III, O IV, O V, O VI, and O VII. Total, partial, and state-specific photoionization cross sections are computed and investigated in detail. Important features are found that should affect over...

Atomic data for opacity calculations : XX . Photoionization cross sections and oscillator strengths for Fe 11

Abshnct. Large scale ab initio calculations for the radiative data of Fe II have bcen carried out in lhe close coupling (cc) approximation employing the R-matrix method and a target slate expansion consisting of 83 LS terms of Fe 111. All bound states of Fe II with n< 10 and / <7 are considered. The results include 1301 bound states in LS coupling, oscillator strengths for 35 941 transitions am...

Atomic Data for Astrophysics. II. New Analytic FITS for Photoionization Cross Sections of Atoms and Ions

We present a complete set of analytic fits to the non-relativistic photoionization cross sections for the ground states of atoms and ions of elements from H through Si, and S, Ar, Ca, and Fe. Near the ionization thresholds, the fits are based on the Opacity Project theoretical cross sections interpolated and smoothed over resonances. At higher energies, the fits reproduce calculated Hartree-Dir...

K-shell photoionization of Nickel ions using R-matrix

We present R-matrix calculations of photoabsorption and photoionization cross sections across the K edge of the Li-like to Ca-like ions stages of Ni. Levelresolved, Breit-Pauli calculations were performed for the Li-like to N a-like stages. Term-resolved calculations, which include the mass-velocity and Darwin relativistic corrections, were performed for the Mg-like to Ca-like ion stages. This ...
